Inspired by popular culture and consumerism, Pop-art was one of the most influential artistic movements of the 20th century. Leading the Pop-art pack was the avant-garde visionary and pop-icon himself, Andy Warhol. In the 1960’s, Warhol gained notoriety for painting iconic American products such as the Campbell’s Soup can and Coca-Cola bottles. He was also known for painting celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe (left) and Elizabeth Taylor.
