For $14 in Arlington, VA (the cheapest I’ve found by far), I got a decent manicure but there were limited colors, NO hot towel (I literally had to get up and wash my hands… weird) and an hour later I was still sitting there because they didn’t have any nail dryers. For $15 (on special that day, reg. Price: $17) in Georgetown, my manicure only lasted 30 minutes (thank god) but the woman literally cut holes in my fingers. On the plus side, there were good color choices and the polish lasted for almost a week, but again NO hot towel or dryers.
After many disappointing trials, I’ve decided to stop being so cheap (this isn’t New York, perfect $12 manis don’t exist here in DC). When I get around to it, my next stop is Bliss @ the W Hotel. In NYC, Bliss was a splurge because their manicures are $25. Funny how that doesn’t sound so bad anymore… Until then, I’ve decided to be frugal and polish my own nails. After all, even though there still are limited color choices, no hot towel or nail dryers, I am still getting an okay manicure and actually saving money (more shoes maybe?).
If anyone has gotten a good manicure lately and hasn’t spent a fortune doing so, PLEASE SHARE!
