There is nothing wrong with being yourself, but opting for your everyday clothing is way too easy. Not only does it lack creativity, but it gives the impression that you’re not even a fan.
Wearing a jersey, t-shirt or sporting a team related color indicates that you are a true fan. You like to get into the games and support your team. Keep it classy though… choosing one or two items of sports memorabilia is best. It's not necessary to wear every 'Browns' or 'Redskins' item you own… you’re not the mascot. Pick a jersey or t-shirt and pair it with jeans (NOT pajama pants- see below). Baseball caps are the most appropriate accessory choice because they look good on most people. And at all costs, please refrain from wearing a hat that holds your beer... that's what hands are for!
This is a prime example of a tailgating nightmare:
Wearing printed pajama pants is a fashion no no, period. Sweatpants and pj pants should never be worn outside of the comfort of your own home.

Is that a bikini top? Since when did they put in a pool at the football stadium? Maybe she is just prepared incase it rains or if someone challenges her to a mud wresting match?? Wow…

Please put that belly away sir! After a few beers, I promise that you’ll still be going home alone.
Moral of the story: Keep it simple folks. When it comes to tailgating... less tacky, more beer!
